The Bandeirante newspaper

In July 1970, just seven months after the beginning of Embraer's operations in January of that same year, the newspaper "O Bandeirante", was born, quite different in nature than it is today. At first, the proposal was to be an informative newsletter for Embraer employees, as stated on the cover. In other words, it was an outlet which, in addition to the company's most important news, such as aircraft sales and new project launches, also informed about the everyday lives of Embraer employees. There were entertainment sections such as crosswords and jokes, cultural tips on movies and plays, a classified advertising section and interviews with Brazilian personalities such as Adhemar Ferreira da Silva, two-time Olympic champion in the triple-jump, the singer Fafá de Belém and comedian Dercy Gonçalves.

The periodicity and number of pages also varied significantly over the years. At the beginning in the 1970's, "O Bandeirante" was published monthly, and had twelve pages. It became a weekly publication at the beginning of the 1980's, and remained that way until the mid-1990's, always with the same number of pages.

Bandeirante magazine

At the end of the 1990's, the publication became a magazine and returned to being a monthly edition, and soon after bimonthly, ranging between eight and sixteen pages. It took on the same institutional and corporate nature it has today, and is now more directed towards the external readership such as partners and clients.

Today's Bandeirante magazine, "Embraer Magazine for Brazil and Abroad" is published by the External Communications Department on a quarterly basis. It has 32 pages of editorial content, with permanent sections such as the Message from the President, In-Focus, Profile and Photo Essay. Besides being delivered to Embraer employees at the units in Brazil and abroad, the magazine is also sent to commercial partners, clients, authorities, embassies and journalists in Brazil and abroad.

If over the past four decades there have been changes in the number of pages, sections and periodicity, often in accordance with the company's situation at the time, what has not changed has been the focus on showing those people who make Embraer what it is, and the products they manufacture. This is always done in a positive manner with a focus on innovation, which is our trademark, and striving to offer content with quality and excellence.
